He has come to our meetings and they have come to his. He has been our campus representative to this community, and so many of our students, staff, and faculty have gone to his door to share their burdens. He has been talking to our students about mental health. He has been talking to our students about what it means to be an effective law enforcement officer. He has been talking to the students about what it means to be compassionate and to look out for the well-being of others. And he has been talking to our faculty and staff about what it means to be a good community leader and mentor. In fact, he has been talking to us all about what it means to be a good leader, to be a good person.
As Dan told us, we need more Dan's. And as Dan told us, we need more Spartans Rises. We need more dreamers. We need more doers. We need more people who have taken the risk in life to give up their comfort to serve their nation. We need more leaders who are willing to take the risk to start a non-profit, to serve their community, and to give themselves to the cause of our country.
And so he could not walk away from the torch of serving his fellow veterans and serving the community. And with that, he was able to manage his struggles. He found an amazing career in law enforcement that is not only honorable, but is truly in the service of his fellow veterans. He served the community. And it is people like this that we see on our campuses, especially in our medical centers, that have made it possible for us to manage our struggles better, and to serve our communities better, and to make them safer places. For this, we are grateful. I want to especially thank all of our veterans, and especially our fellow veterans from the Spartans. As we come together as Spartans, as we come together as Spartans, we can manage our struggles better, and we can serve the community better, and our country better. And the most important thing that we can do is to remember that they are here with us, and they are always with us. And we will always have each other. Thank you, Spartans.
