This document will help you get set up to build Firefox on your owncomputer. Getting set up can take a while - we need to download alot of bytes! Even on a fast connection, this can take ten to fifteenminutes of work, spread out over an hour or two.
Now that your system is ready, we can download the source code and have Firefoxautomatically download the other dependencies it needs. The below commandwill download a lot of data (years of Firefox history!) then guide you throughthe interactive setup process.
I tested this on Mac OS X 10.15 Beta3 (Beta (19A501i) and I can reproduce this with FF Release 67.0.4. The issue is not reproducible with Beta 68 and Nightly 69.0a1(2019-07-07).Also tested on firefox/candidates/68.0-candidates/build3/mac/en-US/ ( -candidates/build3/mac/en-US/) the issue is reproducible. We tested on 2 different iMacs and the issue is reproducible. This is a regression, on Mac OS X 10.15 Beta 2 the issue is not reproducible after the OS is updated to Beta 3 the issue is there.
To be clear I downloaded and installed Beta 68.0b14 which is not notarized per previous comments and build 69 is not yet available. One workaround for now is to open the package and remove the updater app. This allows Firefox to launch but of course it cannot do an update check. I will gladly wait or version 69 beta to continue testing. Right-clicking, selecting Open still fails as it is the updater app that is being rejected.
For releases of Firefox 89.0 and earlier Marionette will only be enabled inGeckoView based applications when the Firefox preferencedevtools.debugger.remote-enabled is set to true viamoz:firefoxOptions.
Marionette will only be enabled in GeckoView based applications when theFirefox preference devtools.debugger.remote-enabled is set to True viamoz:firefoxOptions. This will be fixed in the Firefox 90 release for Android.
Due to the recent requirement from Apple that all programs mustbe notarized, geckodriver will not work on Catalina if you manuallydownload it through another notarized program, such as Firefox.
4. Your browser will then begin downloading the Firefox installation file. Once it's finished, click the download located at the bottom of the browser, or go to where your downloads are stored and double-click the Firefox file.
